ROB GOUGH FOUNDER & MANAGING PARTNER

Rob Gough started his career in tech by launching what many say was the first penny auction website, Bidaroo. While Gough was still in college, his company was the main sponsor of an Indy Car in the Indy 500. After Bidaroo, Gough moved on to run online marketing for Finish Line where he grew his channels from being 3% of the business to over 27%. In the meantime, Gough invested in a recycling company that he thought his capital infusion and strategic value would help the company grow. 3 years later, the company had hundreds of large clients like Kroger, White Castle, Apple Bees, etc. and Gough found a buyer to sell the company to it’s largest competitor. He then co-founded Eckim in 2012, which won many awards in the online marketing community and grew to over $10M in revenue in just 3 years. During the 3 years, Eckim was sold to Coupons.com (NYSE: QUOT). Gough most recently purchased 25% of a vapor company at a $2M valuation. Within 1 year, that company is valued at $40M. Gough graduated from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business with Majors in Marketing and Distribution Management and a minor in Economics.

KAMO JURN / VICE PRESIDENT

Kamo Jurn is an experienced analyst, portfolio manager and investor in both public and private markets. Mr. Jurn was the Head of Research and a Senior Financial Advisor with The Summa Group of Oppenheimer & Co, the largest private wealth team across the Oppenheimer & Co. system. Mr. Jurn was responsible for market and manager research, due diligence, and portfolio management across The Summa Group’s $1.5 billion portfolio. Previous to Oppenheimer & Co. Mr. Jurn served as a Product and Financial Analyst at ServiceMesh under CEO Eric Pulier and CTO Frank Martinez. ServiceMesh was an IT cloud software platform which was ultimately acquired by CSC for $158 million in 2013. Before ServiceMesh, Kamo worked with CEO Stephen Bruce in structured finance, specializing in both Collateralized Loan Obligations and Equity Linked Note instruments. Previous to his engagement with Mr. Bruce, Kamo served as an analyst at Merrill Lynch/Bank of America on the Structured Equity and Financing Trading desk. Kamo graduated from MIT with a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering with a concentration in Economics.

JJ LANE / VICE PRESIDENT

JJ Lane brings a wealth of transactional experience to the NMC team, having advised on over $2 billion in M&A and capital markets activities across his investment banking career. Most recently, JJ co-founded and led the fundraising process for CirrusMD, a leading MedTech Doctor-to-Patient portal, raising a seed capital round of $1 million in convertible notes. Prior to co-founding CirrusMD, JJ was an Associate with St. Charles Capital, a middle market investment bank primarily focused on M&A advisory, where he closed over 20 transactions across a broad array of industries. Previously, JJ was an Analyst in New York for J.P. Morgan in its Investment Banking Division. He began his finance career with KRG Capital Partners, a Denver-based private equity firm with over $3 billion of capital under management. Leading up to his finance career, JJ owned and operated a residential service company for eight years before exiting through a sale of the business. In keeping with his entrepreneurial passion, JJ also founded the Capital Hour, Denver’s leading professional networking organization, with a member base of over 2,000 elite professionals. JJ graduated Cum Laude from the University of Denver Daniels College of Business with a BSBA in Finance.

STEPHEN BRUCE / ADVISORY  BOARD MEMBER

Stephen Bruce founded the Alcentra group in 1997 through the creation of Imperial Credit Asset Management (ICAM). He has been responsible for growing Alcentra’s US asset management business, including the origination and management of leveraged securities funds. Before Alcentra, Stephen was with Appaloosa Management, a $1.8 billion asset manager, where he assisted in developing Thoroughbred Investment LP I, a $600 million bank loan fund. Prior to joining Appaloosa in 1995, Stephen was Director, Corporate Loan Product Manager, for Lehman Brothers in London. In that capacity, he was responsible for coordinating all high yield loan credit reviews and due diligence and providing trading opportunities to Lehman Brothers’ U.S. bank loan investor base. Mr. Bruce started Lehman Brothers’ high yield loan desk in London in 1993 and began his career at Lehman Brothers in 1992 as one of two traders hired to build a bank loan business within Lehman’s High Yield Bond Group. Before joining Lehman, Stephen originated and was co-manager of a $225 million portfolio consisting of investments in leveraged buyout funds and venture capital funds for Imperial Corporation of America. Mr. Bruce began his career at ICA in September of 1987 as a financial analyst prior to initiating management of the fund portfolio in 1990.Stephen received a BA in Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1979 and took graduate courses in Engineering Economic Systems at Stanford University in 1981-1982.

BILL YUAN / ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER

Bill Yuan is the Chainman of Fortress Hill Group, a mixed-staged venture capital and investment holdings company. Mr. Yuan began his finance career at Goldman Sachs as an investment banker in Mergers & Acquisitions, after attending Cornell University and Harvard University’s JFK School of Economics and Government as a Mason Fellow. He then served as a senior vice president and co-manager at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney’s Portfolio Management Corporation with dual functions as co-head of the Capital Markets Derivative team, and Chairman of the Technology Investment Management and Executive Policy Committee. Mr. Yuan then became founder and Managing Director of the Corporate Institutional Services Group at Merrill Lynch Asset Management. He was the Head of Merrill Lynch Asset Management Asia, and Chairman of Merrill Lynch Global Asset Allocation Committee, which in totality had nearly half-trillion dollars (USD) under management. Simultaneously, Mr. Yuan was the Chief Investment Officer/ Portfolio Manager of the $1.2 Billion AmerAsia Hedge Fund domiciled in Asia with special emphasis on technology/ media/ entertainment and telecom (TMT). After attaining over 20 years of experience on Wall Street in all aspects of financing including sell side, capital markets, buy side, venture/private equity, and buy-outs, Mr. Yuan has amassed excellent relations with institutional, venture capital, global private equity, and hedge funds. Along with his financial dealings, he currently focuses on Media/Entertainment/Sports (MES). On the sports side, he packages, structures, and funds the investment into MLB, NBA, and NFL teams. Mr. Yuan independently advises major Chinese institutions such as CITIC Securities, and China Merchants Group. Mr. Yuan advises such institutions on visible investment and acquisition opportunities, capital structure, and deployment. Post-capital deployment, he assists major asset firms manage and maintain their investment to a sizable exit. Mr. Yuan continuously maintains his global relationships with top-tier investment banks, private equity firms, venture capital groups, and hedge funds.

DAVID TRAUB / ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER

David Traub has enjoyed 30 years of international experience as an award-winning executive/digital producer, media educator, investor, venture catalyst, speaker, writer, philanthropist, board member and/or advisor to numerous startups, institutions, multi-national and government entities – with his mission the delivery of bio-psycho-social value via the intersection of technology, immersive distribution platforms and entertainment. His most recent social impact feature films were JOBS (Executive Producer) and BRONX BULL (Co-Producer), his most recent games were PROMISED LAND (Queensryche, Producer) and ON THE ROAD WITH BB KING (BB King, Executive Producer, Awarded “Best Interactive Music CD Game, 1996). His first feature film was the LAWNMOWER MAN, for which he served as virtual reality consultant. David speaks globally (SVVR, AWE, Vision Summit, Digital Hollywood, etc.), has been published 30+ times – including late 1980’s articles on the use of VR for delivering education, and serves as an Ambassador for the Immersive Technology Alliance (http://www.ita3D.com), a well recognized non-profit industry group/voice for technologies such as VR and AR. David earned a Masters in Education in 1990 from Harvard University with a focus on optimizing economic and career development via immersive entertainment interfaces/media, while conducting simultaneous class-work at the MIT Media Lab and Harvard’s Business School. In 1984 he earned his undergraduate degrees in rhetoric and film with honors from the University of California at Berkeley.
